Patient Handling, Lifting and Moving
The Course is designed to teach the safe handling and moving of patients who are ill, incapacitated or otherwise unable to fully mobilise independently.
It also teaches the Carer to protect themselves and ensure their own safety.
Safety of both the patient and the carer is of paramount importance. This course is very much 'hands-on', with most of the day is spent learning practical tips and techniques, and becoming familiar and comfortable with the most commonly used patient handling equipment available in hospitals, nursing homes and domestic settings.
Are you:
• Caring for a loved one, a friend or a relative in a domestic setting?
• A Care Assistant?
• A Registered Nurse in a Hospital or Nursing Home?
• Responsible for staff in a Nursing Home or other in-patient facility?
• A PHECC Registered EMT or Paramedic?
• Involved in the care or transport of the elderly, infirm or mobility restricted people - either in a voluntary or professional capacity?
Then, this could be the Course to suit you.
