Aims
To give participants the basic knowledge needed to understand the effect both industry and the public can have on the environment.
Outcomes
Participants will be able to:
describe environmental issues relating to :
water
air
soil
and give examples of interaction between them
understand the concept of sustainable development
describe current legislation with respect to environmental issues
understand the components of Environmental Management Systems
describe local environmental concerns in terms of causes and effects
describe the significance of the environmental aspects register of ISO14001 certification and identify personal responsibilities within that system
understand individual responsibilities and continual improvement of environmental
performance
