Helicopter underwater emergency training (HUET) including EBS

Aims
To prepare participants for helicopter travel and for escape from a helicopter that has come down in the sea. The course also includes in-water confidence building exercises for participants with limited or no swimming ability.

Outcomes
Describe the pre boarding, boarding, in flight and disembarkation procedures,
State the types of in-flight emergency and describe the likely ditching and emergency landing scenarios,
Describe the evacuation process with reference to donning lifejackets, on-board emergency equipment, escape routes, exit points and their operation, survival techniques following evacuation
Don an aviation lifejacket,
Evacuate from a helicopter following an emergency dry landing,
Dry evacuation from a helicopter ditched in water to a liferaft,
Escape, through an exit underwater, from a partially submerged helicopter,
Escape from a capsized helicopter and inflation of lifejacket.
