Forklift truck driving for up to 3 ton capacity and over 3 ton capacity

Aims
To provide participants who have completed an approved Introduction to Rigging and Slinging course with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate a forklift safely and efficiently in accordance with the Brunei Shell P.L.I.C. The course also refreshes and updates participants with any changes in safety and operational procedures.

Outcomes
1. For a given selection of typical loads which will include but not be limited to palletize goods, tubular, plates and skis, safety.
- Lift from ground level
- Lift from height storage such as racks
- Traverse a minimum distance of 50 meters over a predetermined course which will include but not limited to a narrow, hard solid surface rough terrain, if applicable
- Maneuver forwards and backwards in a simulated confined space storage area
- Place on the ground an offshore container and on a typical variety of COMPANY's racking.
2. Understand and explain the application of the forklift load chart, and safe load indicator and the principles of safe lifting to determine the capacity of a specified forklift truck to undertake specified lifts.
3. Know the safe, proper fueling and/or charging procedures.
