Offshore emergency response team member
Aims
To prepare participants for the role of Offshore Emergency Response Team Member by developing both knowledge and practical skills.
Outcomes
describe the emergency response arrangements at offshore locations and describe the role of the Emergency Response Team Member,
describe the incident planning and monitoring activities,
describe how fixed fire systems operate,
prepare and enter an incident area,
gain access to an incident area,
locate missing personnel,
handle and remove casualties,
select and use portable fire fighting equipment,
select, operate and flush foam fire fighting equipment,
conduct and control breathing apparatus operations,
minimise damage to property,
maintain communications during an incident.
The course includes a practical assessment of competence covering all aspects of the Emergency Response Team Member role.
Note : This course is approved by the Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation – UK.
